How Orders work (And What To do When you Get One)
At British Flower Market, we’ve made the order process as simple and transparent as possible — for both customers and vendors. Whether you’re a grower listing bunches of stems or a florist selling bouquets, here’s what to expect when someone places an order.
1. You Receive an Email Notification
As soon as a customer places an order from your store, you’ll receive an email alert. This will include:
The customer’s name and contact details
A list of the product(s) they’ve purchased
The selected shipping method (e.g. Pickup, Local Delivery, Royal Mail)
Any delivery instructions or order notes they’ve included
Make sure your vendor email address is up to date so you don’t miss any notifications.
2. View the Order in Your Dashboard
Log into your Vendor Dashboard and go to Orders. Here, you can:
View all current and past orders
See payment status and shipping method
Update the order status (e.g. Processing, Completed)
Print a packing slip or invoice if needed
3. Fulfil the Order
How you fulfil the order depends on the shipping method chosen:
Pickup: Get in touch with the customer to confirm a collection time based on your availability settings.
Local Delivery: Deliver the order within the radius and time slots you’ve defined.
Royal Mail: Use the box tier selected by the customer, pack accordingly, and dispatch on one of your designated mailing days.
Make sure you include any care instructions, branding, or packaging agreed upon in your listing.
4. Mark the Order as Completed
Once the order has been fulfilled, mark it as Completed in your dashboard. This lets the customer know it’s been taken care of and triggers the final order confirmation.
5. Earnings and Payouts
After 7 days, your commission-processed earnings become available for withdrawal via your preferred method (e.g. bank transfer or Stripe Connect). You can track your earnings under the Withdraw tab in your dashboard.
