Policies and Expectations

At British Flower Market, we’re committed to building a trusted, high-quality marketplace for seasonal British-grown and arranged flowers. To make that happen, we ask all sellers to follow a few simple policies and uphold standards that benefit everyone — customers and vendors alike.


General Seller Expectations

  • British Flowers & Foliage
    All products listed by growers must be grown by themselves. For florists, at least 60% of bouquets must consist of British-grown flowers and/or foliage.

  • Accurate Listings
    Photos, prices, stem counts, and stock levels should reflect what the customer will receive. Update listings if anything changes.

  • Respectful Communication
    Respond to customer queries and messages promptly, politely, and helpfully.

  • Fulfillment Commitments
    Only offer delivery or pickup on days you’re available. Use the delivery settings in your dashboard to avoid customer disappointment.


Delivery & Refunds

  • Royal Mail Shipping
    If offering national delivery, you must pack securely and dispatch on days you’ve set in your shipping settings.

  • Local Delivery Radius
    Be clear about your max delivery distance and stick to it. You’re responsible for on-time delivery.

  • Pickup Windows
    If offering pickup, set clear hours and make sure someone is available during those times.

  • Refund Policy
    Customers have 24 hours after delivery to request a refund, with photographic evidence. Refunds are managed by BFM and deducted from your balance.


Product Quality

  • Freshness Guarantee
    Flowers must be in good condition at the time of dispatch or collection.

  • Seasonal Honesty
    If something becomes unavailable, mark the item out of stock — don’t substitute unless agreed with the customer.


Payment & Fees

  • Commission
    We charge 5% commission plus 2.5% payment processing on each order.

  • Payout Timing
    You can withdraw earnings 7 days after a completed order.

  • Membership Fees
    Introductory prices apply until 1 April 2026:

    • £49/year for Grower or Florist

    • £85/year for Combined Vendors

    • Free for Community Members


Marketing & Promotion

  • Use Your Dashboard Tools
    Add images, availability dates, and delivery preferences. This improves visibility in search.

  • Boost Opportunities
    You can apply for optional paid boosts (Instagram features, homepage placement, etc.) to increase exposure. See Marketing Boosts for more.


Breaches & Removal

We reserve the right to remove vendors who breach these policies, including:

  • Repeated failure to fulfill orders

  • Misrepresentation of imported flowers as British-grown flowers

  • Misleading product listings

  • Disrespectful behaviour towards customers or BFM staff
